Cassie Blake reiterated what all of the Secret Circle teenage witches believed in the last episode, that her father John Blackwell had died in the mysterious boathouse fire years ago.
Except, he hasn’t. Which may or may not be surprising to you, depending on your ability to figure out the process of narrative.
TVGuide has learned that Joe Lando has been cast to play Cassie’s father, John Blackwell. And before you think he’ll just be in flashbacks… he’s returning in episode 15 and claiming he’s “a changed man” wanting to protect Cassie and the circle. Well, so much for the show being able to display that twist themselves.
Hopefully, John will come with news of who is his other child in the circle…

Most of us already knew he was going to come back. He is the Katherine of TSC. And i read it in Wikipedia, the descriptions of the books XD.
I hope that with this the series begins to be good like TVD. Because seriosly this 11 were almost all standalones and i seriously think that Cassie and Adam were miscast.
And sorry for my bad english.
Shocking.
I think everyone knew he'd be showing up at some point. It was only a matter of when. I agree with Luis, John Blackwell is the Katherine of The Secret Circle Season 1, but also the Klaus of The Secret Circle Season 2+. Book readers would have known he'd be showing up at some point.
However, this doesn't lessen my excitement one bit. I'm more excited knowing that he's coming, because everyone in the show assumes he's dead plus it will no doubt heat up the show's story line that it has building. Unless he really is dead and he's brought back from the dead. That's be pretty cool. I believe this coming Thursday's episode "Witness" will be giving us a lot of answers since it's going to be our first "flashback" episode, except it's more of going into Jake's memory (which is awesome). I am anxiously awaiting Mr. Daddy Blackwell's return. Him appearing, I do wonder if this will bring out the answer to his other child. Hmmm
where is tsc's photo recap?
I think that Faye is his other daughter.
