Summer Rewatch: The O.C.

As a complement to the Buffy Summer Rewatch, I am going to be reviewing and recapping yet another old favorite—Josh Schwartz’s heartfelt teen drama The O.C. One of my very good friends has been begging me to watch this show for years, and I always meant to, but for some reason I just never got to it. But long at last, here I am, and I am very excited to begin! I plan to review several episodes each week—two on Monday, two on Thursday.  Those who have already seen the show are invited to follow along and rewatch, and those (like me) who have not seen it are certainly welcome to watch as well. In fact, if for whatever reason you have never seen The O.C., then I strongly encourage you to get your butt on thewb.com and check it out. I’ve seen the first few episodes already, and thus far I am pleasantly surprised; the show is not at all what I had expected it to be, and I am looking forward to sharing some of my thoughts on it. Expect to see my first official posts on the first two episodes Monday, if not sooner!

As mentioned, you can find the complete first season of The O.C. on thewb.com. Hope to have some of you watching with me!

  • ooh sounds cool! I've seen the first two seasons and i always meant to finish the show

  • The OC was my first ever teenage show I started watching back in 2003. My elder sister got m hooked to it, it completely stood out from all the other teen shows. Ahhh, season 1 and 2 were great! Can't wait to see how you recap it! I know the OC did not end the same way it started, but it did leave something special in my heart because a part from the story there was also THE SOUNDTRACK, that I listen to even today! The OC is like that wonderful memory of a great summer vacation that you had with your friends, you will never forget it, and you will never experience something like that again, purely because you have grown up and times have changed.

  • I love The O.C.! I've made it a summer tradition to watch the whole series since 2007, and I just started at the beginning of May and I'll probably finish season 1 by the end of the day. Even after watching the entire show at least 5-6 times, it still never gets old and is as addictive and emotional as the first time I watched it.

  • I always like to rewatch OC during snowy winters, because it reminds me why I can't wait for the summer to return. :)

  • I have actually just spent the past couple of weeks re-watching all the OC episodes. I am so annoyed that it stopped where it did. I was and am so up for more :-( This was always my favourite teen drama and still remains to be so, having kept up with Gossip Girl and 90210 over the past few years it's just depressing - because the OC is so much better then all of them put together. The OC had the whole package: Exploring fun and serious story lines, adult and teen, big and small, reoccurring and non reoccurring ect. No other show has managed to do that since. The OC was totally able to stand on its own merits, the only reason people starter turning of his because FOX changed the day and time every 5 mins and kept having breaks. So annoying, I aware all my favourite shows get cancelled and the half decent ones prevail.
