Continuum 1×03 ‘Wasting Time’ recap: A win-win situation

Things took a turn for the creepy, when two bodies with holes in their head showed up on another great episode from Continuum.

Tension runs high at Liber8, when gang leader Travis falls sick. Causing Valentine to murder two men. The bodies showed up at the police station with a hole in their head. Kiera  quickly finds out that the substance they’re after is a special human growth hormone for creating a serum.

While waiting for Carlos, Kiera meets up with Kellog. He offers her a win-win proposal, he helps her with Liber8 and she leaves him be.

At first, it seems that the two men have absolutely nothing in common, but with the help of Alec they discover that the two men visited the same sperm bank. Luckily for them, the sperm bank owner is up to some shady business. Selling sperm from Nobel price winners for more money and so on. They receive every file from every client and begin searching patterns in the genes.

Meanwhile, Kellog is supposedly setting Kiera up with false information about a student with the same gene-pattern. Tricking one of the gang members, Curtis, to come with him. Kiera and Carlos go to the same address, but only Carlos goes to the place where the two gang members are hiding.

After Kiera realises it’s a trap, she hurries to the kitchen where Carlos is fighting Curtis. Kellog escapes, but is tagged by Kiera in the process.  The fight  scene was super intense and terrifically done. Carlos kinda passes out and Kiera takes over. Curtis electrocuted Kiera and destroys her suit. He also steals her gun from the future, but uses it wrong and kills himself.

The other Liber8 members managed to create a serum for Travis and is cured. Not shortly after Kellog arrives at the house, Travis sees that Kellog is tagged and leaves him at the house, for Kiera to find him. They barely escaped the exploding house, so is Kellog now on Kiera’s side? At the end Kiera steals the remaining piece from the device.

Anyway, I think it won’t be long before Carlos finds out where Kiera is really from. Also, at the beginning of the episode they made it seem like Kagame, the previous Liber8 leader, isn’t really dead, what I expected. (The actor is credited as a season regular..) He’s just keeping a low profile. Lastly, Alec’s stepfather and stepbrother seem to have the opposite believes as Alec. Will they join Liber8 and will they do something with Alec’s equipment? The preview looks very promising, and I surely can’t wait!
