When they said this season would be tougher, they weren’t kidding. This week marks the exit of two fan-favorites, one by choice and one by elimination. Even though there was more kissing than dancing, it still was an exiting hour of reality tv!
The music video performance on the other hand, was less exiting. It basically sucked! I expected far more out of it, and so did the judges!
It’s so obvious that these kids are just teens, bickering for a line or two in their assignment and moping if you don’t get what you wanted. This week I was less impressed with Mario, he seemed really arrogant. They were just really arguing and yelling at each other, at one point it all was too much for dear Taryn who was irritated by the whole bunch. That same evening, she decides to call it quits and left the competition. I’m a little bummed, because she was quite talented and genuinely nice.
For their homework assignment, they had to perform ‘We got the beat’ by The Go Go’s before Samuel Larsen, one of last season’s winners. This was probably one of the best assignments I’ve seen on The Glee Project. It was really, really good. So I was fairly confident about their music video, if only I knew then! Anyway, Abraham definitely stood out and won the assignment.
From there on, things began to go downhill for the contestants. Studiowork was good for everyone, except Lily. I don’t get why her pitch was off. She just kept bragging about her vocal range for the past 2 episodes, but her studiowork was disastrous. During Lily’s studiowork, things began to heat up between Aylin and Charlie. Charlie got himself a little crush on Aylin.
Anyway, their filming was horrendous. I haven’t seen an episode, like this one, that emphasized how much the contestants sucked! Abraham was too nervous and his dancing looked really forced. Everybody was constantly forgetting their steps or doing ‘wedding dance moves’. And the worst of all, they forgot to lip sync in their music video! Dani was really out-of-place in the ‘party-scenario’ and couldn’t bring a party mood to the table. But, but it wasn’t all bad! Michael and Blake were actually really good, I enjoyed their bits of ‘Party Rock Anthem’ very much! One thing I also enjoyed, was all that kissing. Oh My God, I can’t be the only one who thought there was more kissing than dancing, in Dance-Ability week. Charlie was kind of bummed that he didn’t get to kiss with Aylin in the music video and Blake did. Actually he was really jealous, until Aylin kissed him in front of everyone.
As expected, the judges were really disappointed in the most of them. Leaving Dani, Tyler and Lily to perform before Ryan. All of them did really well! It came between Lily and Dani to choose from. Dani, clearly someone who belongs on a stage and not on glee, or Lily, a superconfident plus-size girl with attitude problems. I actually really thought they would send Lily packing, who wants to work with someone like her? She’s arrogant, and not that good of a singer. Unfortunately, Ryan decided to send Dani home..
I did not see this coming at all, I always thought Dani would finish somewhere in the top and Taryn was just such a sweet girl! I know this week was absolutely horrible for the contestants and the judges, but next week looks even worse! See you then.
