  • So do we not know who won TV Villain? (please let it be JoMo, please let it be JoMo)

  • TCA is all about fangirls. So obviously tvd would win.

Despite its laughable quality, it IS pretty much the Twilight of tv shows in fangirl department.

Because let's be frank, if it was about quality, someone like Nina Dobrev would NEVER have won ;]

    • I'm actually pretty sure the TCA people are allowed to change the voting outcome…and do so often. Well, I can't say they do so often, but it does feel like "Oh this show won? Well all the actors in the show should win."

      Just checked their terms:
"Winners for the Teen Choice Awards are determined using the votes cast on the Site. Votes are tabulated electronically and winners are determined based on the nominees in each category with the highest number of eligible votes. Teenasaurus Rox reserves the right to choose the winner from the top four vote generators."
      https://teenchoiceawards.com/votingrules.aspx

  • I think it's really obvious that this one is just an awardshow for teengirls. Abduction for best action movie, lol that movie was superbad. They only voted for it, because of Taylor Lautner (I don't know if that's really his last name) Anyway it's good that Teen Wolf was voted best summer show, it's way better than Pretty Little Liars. I was kind of bummed that Janel Parrish got the best villain spot, she's not that great of a villain. I guess it's good for some of these actors to get these kind of awards because it's the only kind of award they'll ever get imo...

    • Agreed. Otherwise, i no way in sensible world would Vampire Diaries trumph over Fringe and OUAT, PLL over Revenge and Nina Dobrev's Elena over Ginnifer Goodwin's Snow White.

    • However Joseph Morgan didn't deserve best villain either (mind you I felt the same way when Ian won that award over Terry O'Quinn). You are right only some them will ever actually see the thing we know they really covet because despite I love this award because it from the fans every actor wants recognition from their peers which Emmy's and Oscars are peer awards (but not everyone is aware of that but it true).

  • what a diversity among the awarded :D I watched the show with skipping the annoying host, Justin Bieber, Jonah Hill, Taylor Swift, TwiShit.. mediocre at best. But I loved Flo Rida's performance! Also how is True Blood in this? Isn't it too disturbing for the poor young girls? haha

  • Also Bieber winning Fashion Male Icon is just ridiculous, no one actually wants to dress like him and he mostly made fun of.
Ian only should have gotten Choice Hottie (imo he should never win Choice Actor) and yes Nina's surfboard should have either went to Ginnifer Goodwin or Anna Torv (and as Kat fan I am confused as to why she was nominated in Choice Actress she barely was on the show).

Can someone tell me what happen to tv sidekick?

    • Agreed. Elena "Bella Swan" Gilbert getting any awards is just as ridiculous as Kristen Stewart winning an oscar would be :)

Then again, TCA do not deserve to be called Awards, since its basically a "popularity contest"

  • Yawn. I am sorry, I watch TVD but unless its Joseph Morgan (who is really the only actor there I would call talented) getting an award, this is just iPhone generation teens voting for someone popular with pretty blue eyes (a.k.a. Mr Somerholder),but they understand it as super talented...so I don't take these awards seriously, too much couture, too many one-shoulder poses...but what I am mainly happy about is that Gossip Girl did not get a single award, not even teens can save this show...

    • I am bit sad, Ed Westwick didn't win as he finally got nominated in Choice Actor category for the first time (he should have been in it since 2009 but for some reason he kept getting put into choice villain while Chace kept getting Choice actor).

      • I get where you are coming from but tbh even Ed has been terrible during the last season of GG (except for the episode where he found out about Diana being his "mother" and Bart being alive) but overall I did not enjoy watching him as Chuck this season. Yeah, I have no idea why he is put into the category of villain, because he is as much of a villain as Justin Bieber was last year, sooo yeah,,,on the one scale you have Chuck who has not done a bad thing al season long except quasi ruin Dan's new script/book/ whatever it was and on the other you have Klaus, who ripped people apart and tortured everyone around him...Chace Crawford is a joke, but a cute joke at that, so that is why fangirlies were voting for him in the previous years.

        • Ed was the only actor I did enjoy this past season, should he have won for season 5, no, his storyline was too dumb but I wish he got it to make up for the years he should have won, here's hoping to season 6 not being dumb and he finally gets it. To me Joseph should have won villain last year because he was ineffectual villain in season 3 once he found out Elena was the key to making his hybrids and then for latter half he made the victim with his mother being the villain, and then the mystic falls gang came across more villainous than he did with trying to kill him (while intentions were honorable the way they went about it put our heroes more in the wrong than the right). Lana Parrilla should have win villain this year.

  • I'm happy with all the winners , i'ts called "Teen choice awards" remember? All the other award shows are voted by the critics and this is what made this "Popularity Contest" more special...and i'm glad GG didn't won anything and i'm sorry but i don't get what people see in that "One Upon A Time" show, it's a cheese-fest and it's so funny how a teenage show like TVD it's just so much more exciting, Oh and Supernatural? It used to be good but they've destroyed Sammy so much that i don't even bother to watch it anymore...

    • TVD had bad sloppy season and didn't deserve win diddly squat (Ian should hell did not put on a great performance this past season compare to those he competed with) and like I said despite what these actors say, what they valued more than these fan votes which is being recognized by your peers, both emmy's and oscars are peer awards, not critic awards (because they have one already called the critic's choice which is in fact more open to giving nominations to emmy snubs) but then again maybe tca needs to stop putting shows that clearly teen voters don't watch like true blood and from Michael reveal it seem like fan votes don't really matter much if tca can just change them. So to say Supernatural used to be good is the reason why TVD shouldn't have won because season 3 was complete mess and season 4 isn't promising fans nothing.

      • Well, like i said this is more of a Popularuty contest and it should be fun, i don't know ehy people make such a big deal about who won or not and besides IMO, last season of TVD was the best and clearly i'm not the only one who thinks so...=D

        • The online fandom of tvd is actually a small portion of fans but ratings decreased and most people who while did enjoy the season look back noticed it didn't make sense and many people were not happy with the comic con panel. as for them winning the awards Michael pointed out how votes are done, it seems as if viewers votes actually are not the deciding factor.

And it one thing to be fun but it is another to be ridiculous, TCA has become ridiculous, do you really think people consider Miley Cyrus as hot, cause that award could have confuse me considering she gets taken to task often and has a body of a 13 year old, yes Britney Spears won this same award at the same age but Britney never look like a little girl. My friend just ask why is that even a category. I mean seriously Aduction won favorite movie and it was a box office failure.

I found the award show itself just boring and there was more diversity in the winners a few years back.

    • TVD has been an utter kitsch with skewed morality, no consequences, forgetable characters and tons of plotholes for about a season now. It did not get better, it managed to fail at pretty much every plotline it thought up in Season Three and it continuously is driving away the fanbases that support the show.

S2 had its trainwrecky-ness, retcons and horrible bella-swan-ish characterization of Elena, but watching S3 just plainly felt like getting forcefully fed huge amounts of sawdust.

What do people see in Once Upon a Time? A well-written, complex show that reinterprets famous fairytales in darker and unexpected ways, pays homage to Disney, while subverting the Disney-like expectations and pulls twists and turns like Lost did. There's also the fact that a random recurring character could out-act entire TVD cast together and that show has freaking brilliant villains. and well-developed coherent, consistent storyline and character growth, unlike TVD.
