True Blood 5.10 ‘Gone, Gone, Gone’ photo recap & review

Hi, everyone! I’m back this week. Only two more episodes to go so let’s jump right in. This recap actually turned out to be much shorter than the others so far, not only because the episode was about 8 minutes shorter than usual but also because there were a lot of scenes that I didn’t find crucial.

Thoughts:

Honestly, I felt that this episode was strongly carried on the backs of Jess, Jason, and Hoyt’s emotional parting. I almost cried when Jess was erasing Hoyt’s mind and later when Jason finally realizes his best friend no longer remembers him. There was a part of me that was always hoping that Jess and Hoyt would end up together again but that no longer seems likely. According to the article here, it seems that we won’t be seeing Hoyt again this season but perhaps in the future if the writers feel like bringing him back. I am very sad to see him go. He was always one of my favorite characters.

As always, thanks for reading! Leave your thoughts down below.

  • I really hope Eric is faking it and hes just trying to get the hell out of there!! I didn't really get why Nora didn't freak out when she saw Lilth kill her Dad, as in start to question this devotion to a chick that runs around naked covered in blood killing people. This ep. was kinda there to wrap up some story lines before the season finale (I cant believe it's nearly over!)

    • I know! You'd think seeing her dad killed by her "God" would be a dealbreaker but I guess not. I also suspect that Eric is just faking it.

  • lol "I'm so mad, I'm gonna change accents" :D I loved that, and the wingdings characters! :D Also, I thought the same thing you did about Hoyt trying to be all mature but then just choosing the easy option of being "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" -ed :P (Haha! I loved that too!) Great recap!

  • Why is it always Alaska? That's where my friend's boyfriend went to work to "find himself as a man." I think it has the highest male-female ratio in the US (a fact that the internet just verified) probably because that's where guys keep going for man-time.
