But first, just moments ago, Gossip Girl’s Chuck Bass beat John Reese from Person of Interest in our first semifinals round with 57% of the votes. He will be advancing and battle either one of these two contenders next week to become the ultimate champion! It was a fierce battle. Will this one be as well?
Klaus faced off in/famous Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, meanwhile Rick went up against a sure-winner in Brooke Davis from One Tree Hill. And now, it’s time to see which one of them deserves to be in the finals more. Will it be Klaus or will it be Rick?
You may vote as many times as you like. This poll is open until Thursday, October 4th, at 6pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time. The final round will begin Sunday, October 7th! Be on the look out!

Rigged. There's gotta be a glitch or something. How is Klaus this far behind? I know TWD fandom isn't big enough to beat the TVD fandom and the Klaus maniacs.
Want to bet on that?
Walking Dead: 7 to 9 million viewers per episode, almost universal critical acclaim, a successful comic book series and best-selling episodic video game series.
Bella Swan Diaries: around 2 million viewers per episode that is bound to go even lower as the show continues to drag along
And we still won! Bella Swan Diaries FTW ;P
LOL. As much as I want Klaus to win because I love him. I know Rick is going to win.
I know! Seriously, Rick Grimes should not win! Klaus cmon! Chuck will kick his butt anyway if he wins.
Rigged it is. It has to be Klaus
Walking Dead has at least three or two times bigger viewer numbers and far longer presence in media (since it started as comic book series) and gaming community(due to VERY popular spin-off episodic game series).
If it was the other way, THEN it would be rigged. But right now its nothing more than a FAR bigger fanbase winning over far smaller fanbase of far less significant tv show.
I wasn't aware that walking dead fans were a bunch of fangirls crazy enough to sit here and vote nonstop like the tvd fandom. I just thought they had an older, male audience who really didnt give a shit about this stuff but I guess i should eat my words. TWD is full of a bunch of fangirls like us. We aren't so different, you and I. :)
Or the fandom simply has far more members who are aware of social media.
The only thing worse than TVD fandom is GG and twilight fandoms.
Doubtful. I hadn't even heard of "Rick Grimes" until this poll. I don't insult your fandom. Grow up and have some respect and stop insulting others. To be honest I was going to give the fandom a shot but now I'm a bit turned off due to the condescending rudeness i've seen from you.
This has to be the most hypocritical post I have ever read here.
"I do not insult your fandom except for blaming them for rigging your poll and undermining their popularity. Now I will prove you how I am not insulting you by insulting you directly".
Oh the hilarity.
You can speak for yourself. Don't be so sure about everyone else. I'm gonna be honest, you're probably getting some help from people in our fandom who dislike Klaus. Because they can be pretty bitter and immature. Ship wars and everything.
Well that was rude. I don't insult your fandom. Why are you insulting mine by comparing them to twilight?
Uhm walking dead comics have been around since 2003. The vakpire diaries vooks have been around since 1991. Check your facts sir.
Vampire* books* I apologize for the typos. I'm on my phone -__-
With all due respect, Vampire Diaries sort of vanished from the scene after the first trilogy ended. Then it only returned recently. And even back then the book series never really became that popular.
Walking Dead however started in the age of internet and digital distribution, in a far more accessible format than books, gaining far bigger popularity. It never stopped to be in the media through that time.
TVD IS older franchise, but TWD has far more media coverage over the years.
Seriously, if we wanted to rig this to make Klaus lose, we would have done it when he was battling Angel. Rick won against Brooke Davis, The Ultimate Whisper-Talker. Nothing is rigged. Just keep voting as much as you possibly can until 6pm this evening. May the best whisperer win!
" You may vote as many times as you like." Few votes later ... "We have received too many votes from you. You will be unblocked after a cooling off period." Now that's just not right.
That's a PollDaddy policy and there's nothing we can do about that. I presume it's to stop people from using hacks.
Well then you shouldn't have it say that. :)
The statement is still true. You can vote as many times as you'd like. However, sometimes if you vote too frequently in a short period, PollDaddy times out, or so I've learned. You're the second person to come forward with being timed out. :)
I strange that two people talking about being respectful are the one who were being immature first because their guy was losing. I was mad as hell when Angel lost as he beats Klaus in the whisper thing and I believe every guy only whisper because of Angel but you didn't see me going around stating it was rigged and by going by seniority BTVS franchise has been out longer than TVD (cause I count the crapy movie). So do like Michael said and vote and stop bitching.
Also everyone knows the most petty group in tvd fandom is peole who dislike Bonnie. I dislike season 3 Klaus but I adore Joseph Morgan.
I wouldn't call it immaturity. I was just unaware of the size of the fandom of TWD so excuse my ignorance on that part. It was a mistake. When I made that comment, I was simply confused as to why Joseph/Klaus was 5,000 votes behind. And I'm just going to make this clear now in case it was confusing, I wasn't calling anyone in the TWD fandom immature, I was referring to something else.
I am just stating you two were being immature by assuming it was rigged and your ignorance and voicing of such ignorance is what many would deem immature and the fact you didn't state that out your ignorance after the person inform you of the TWD, and you made many generalizations in your responses. Majority of the fans of TWD show are women, but they are not fangirls they are fans who happen to be women.
I believe I did state my ignorance. I may not have necessarily used the word "ignorant" But I did say that I was unaware of these things. And actually most of the people I know that watch it, are men. The person only informed me of the size of the fandom and how they are popular in social media. Not whether or not they were compiled of men or female.
And I wasn't being insulting about the fangirl comment. There is nothing wrong with being a fangirl. At least in my opinion there isn't.
I meant you went on further to incite more hostility by generalizing about them and then going on to debate which franchise has more folks in it. Either way your original post and some of your comments afterwards along with the other poster who got in on my franchise has bigger balls than your franchise were being immature as well as InvestedinYourFuture.
Being a fangirl in my book is bad thing, It pretty much another word for sheep that you would defend even the bad parts of what you are fan of. Fangirls also tend to be very entitled and very petty (hence why Julie being a fangirl s bad thing). I made a ranking system for myself so I can avoid joining such fandoms,
As for Julie's twitter behavior the reason why its bad is she very rude to certain shippers who are not rude to her and only get rude when she decides to be rude (fro example that twitter incident back in March only started because Julie was rude and condescending) but then she goes onto comfort parts of fanbases she has repeatedly stated have threatened her life. Also notice she does not take criticism very well. And if she can not deal with it, then she shouldn't be speaking with any fans on twitter and in fact i really don't know why the writers or producers do this, if they wanted to talk to fans, they should have one account for all of them that is monitor by a publicist (cause let's face it imo Julie writes like she's some deluded teenager in la la world.
I don't think I debated about which franchise had more people in it. I know that TVD is a pretty small franchise seeing as the cw is a pretty small network anyway. I know we're small but we're loud. And who has balls?
And that's your opinion. Sorry if you got offended by my fangirl comment because in my book it isn't a bad thing. I think you just have to get to know the right people. Some fangirls are really petty and rude and there are some who are just solely invested in the show and their ships and don't give a crap about anyone else's ships. It's like on tumblr, you can follow the people who share the same interests as you and you don't have to see any hate against what you like unless you go looking for it. You're basically in a bubble. So being those type of fangirls, isn't a bad thing in my book. But that's my opinion and you have your own as well.
Basically I think Julie is the bad parts of fangirling. She is a 40 year old teenager. She is stuck in high school. Maybe even middle school. I agree that she starts it. I think I said that she instigates everything and eggs all the haters on in one of my comments. I'm pretty sure the cast gets hate and they don't respond to it so I think she should take a note from them and just stop responding to them and just ignore it. She seriously shouldn't be talking to the fans because she can't take criticism well at all. She lives on a high horse and thinks that she is a phenomenal writer and as much as I love TVD, some of her writing is very ordinary and uninspiring.
Here's the thing about haters though... no one hated her until she started being rude.
Kat Graham gets attacked alot and no one from the cast and crew jumps in and defends her but yet Julie got attack and Matt Davis just needed to comment because "she is his friend" but yet we are told all these people are friends. And what Julie can't just not say anything. She shouldn't even be talking to fans who are nice on twitter either. I knew her twitter presence and interaction with the fanbase on twitter was going to cause problems when she would only state nice things about DE videos. As a producer you are only suppose to be aware and acknowledge the fanbase, not engage fandom stuff. If I was the CW President and saw what she was doing, I would fire her or demote her and I hate saying that as I do like supporting women in profession I want to go into but she is clearly the example for what not to do as as a showrunner. People are threatening to send her comments to sponsors who won't like that. She just needs to stop and quite frankly she is on it too much.
As for her writing, she doesn't even write it on her own, and she only really good if Kevin writes with her. She ain't not Shonda Rhimes, who actually can pen an entire episode on her own.
She needs to take some notes from Jeff Davis. Her vision is very skewed. I liked Kevin Williamson more, but he's not so much a part of it as much as she is now. She is very biased and you can see it in her writing. And it makes it easier for the viewers to predict things based on her opinions. I see hints of her having an inappropriate crush on Ian too. I would do the same thing if I was the CW president. In fact I was kind of hoping that would happen when we got the new one but it hasn't happened so far. I just think Kevin should be more a part of it. His views differ from hers in some ways and it would keep the show more open minded.
I don't think Kevin really wanted to do TVD as he kind did what he did with Dawson's Creek which was he left because he really wanted to do movies in the 90's and I do believe Warner Brothers was only going to give Kevin his serial killer show if he gave them a vampire show (that's my opinion as TVD was JP's idea not Kevin's, she only went to him because Kevin has clout over her and she was still known as the person who ruined Kyle XY).
She really does have an inappropriate crushes on the men and to be quite frankly I think she lives through Caroline and Elena and like Matt Davis, I think Julie's under the impression only minorities care about Bonnie.
Hmm I always thought Kevin had a higher position than Julie and he just decided to back out to do Secret Circle. But yeah I heard about his serial killer show too. Haha it's funny that you mention Kyle XY because I used to love it and then I hated everything that was happening in that show and then years later I find out that Julie wrote some of the episodes. Oh my goodness thank you. I have said multiple times that she lives vicariously through her characters and I've always said that about her opinion on Bonnie too. And jesus you have said everything I've been thinking about her.
BTW, my original post was not just about you but the whole thing considering it was two immature "oh this must be rigged" comments which started the argument. I noticed it was not you per se who started the whole "well my franchise is older" comment.
Oh this is ironic that you mention the BTVS movie. The movie was crappy. I actually had never seen it but I've always been a big fan of the show so I decided to watch the movie last weekend and was seriously disappointed haha.
Whedon even admits the movie was crappy. SMG even stated she was hesitant on auditioning because the movie was crappy. Majority BTVS fans are aware the movie is crappy, you only watch it to make fun of it.
Okay. What? I didn't watch it to make fun of it. I said I was a huge fun of the whole Buffy franchise. And I was in love with Angel. I watched the movie because I wanted to see what it was like seeing as how much I loved the show.
I am just telling you majority of the fanbase only watch it to make fun of it. It okay you weren't aware that it was crap, I am just big behind Whedonite and watched the comic con panel reunion where he mentions again that the film was crappy. Since you saw it, the movie and show are nothing alike.
TVD fandom can be VERY hypocritical and defensive.
I frankly count the fandom as reflection of the writing staff of the show itself - Julie Plec has attacked certain parts of fandom on more than one occasion and the writers and actors(namely Matt Davis) are not beyond throwing racist and insensitive remarks over twitter.
The fandom is also a reflection of a show writing itself - and here you have a show that ENCOURAGES ship wars and has quite a few bits of misogyny and sexism in its writing, relying entire on love triangle and ship wars to keep the show going. So the fandom parts who dislike that leave the show and those who are okay with it form the fandom. Cue the current level of the fandom.
Its best to just not pay attention to the most rabid parts of TVD fandom as its, honestly and sadly, has become one of the most aggressive and silly fandoms in terms of tv media.
I laugh at the rabid fandom at tvd, they are also the folks who thought season 3 was good when majority of actors agreed season 3 was not that good (mainly Paul Wesley). Its on youtube probation (for only Kat Graham and Paul Wesley, only JoMo scenes without Caroline) for now as the JP doesn't know how spoil to save her life without sounded like some damn fangirl and overhypes everything.
For once I agree with something you have said. Julie has attacked some parts of the fandom and her and Matt are just flat out rude. And although I don't believe that people should be sending her hate, I don't think she handles it very well. I feel like she instigates it. She eggs on the haters. But it still doesn't give anyone the right to say the things that they say about her on twitter. I don't know if I completely agree with the misogyny and sexism part though because we have characters like Caroline who just kick ass. I don't know. I haven't analyzed the rest of it much. And a large part of our fandom is involved in ship wars but I don't participate in ship wars. I respect all ships. I just get defensive when my fandom as a whole is insulted. Could you really blame me though? A show I'm invested in is being insulted is like insulting my taste, especially when you compare it to the oh so creative vampires of twilight. And especially when you're basically saying I as a TVD viewer, am okay with sexism.
If you think this is aggressive than you're forgetting the aggression and animosity that is all over youtube between Delena and Stelena shippers. Frankly I could care less. The show has creative twists and plots. Some of the characters have great and interesting character development. Joseph Morgan, Michael Trevino, Paul Wesley, Candice Accola are great actors in my opinion. And Nina has really grown to be a better actress since the show started. That's why I watch it. Not because I "approve" sexism or any of that.
Caroline is conveniently awesome and kick ass but I believe she has been kidnapped and tortured more than Elena has and JP and writers always find some way to victimize Caroline. I mean how is it she can beat up Damon one minute (which for some reason season 3 disregarded majority of their vampire rules for the hell of it) and then be kidnapped and torture the next. Caroline didn't do anything all season other than be a prop for another triangle, her storylines were the same one she had in season 2. Don't get me started on the flirting with the idea of Klaroline which would make Caroline just as dumb as Elena.
I like Candice but I do think she is just an okay actress who benefits for alot of screentime (even when she looks out place in it) and occasionally good writing. She and Nina get alot opportunities to showcase their talents while Kat Graham is made to do nothing and could probably do more than those two combine, I mean girl speaks three languages fluently, and alittle bit of some in two others.
That's very true. Plec always puts Caroline in this situations and don't even get me started on how pissed off I get that it's always her being tortured and how it's always Bonnie being the one who gets screwed over. I think Caroline is still growing though. Her storyline does have a lot to do with Forwood/Klaroline in season 3 but I don't think that's the only one she's gotten. I'm a sucker for the family relationships and in season 2 I loved the relationship with her mom, and in season 3, there was her dad. I admit, he was a pretty crappy person but the relationship was still there. I think Tyler's current storyline just has mainly to do with relationships. Ever since his werewolf transformation he hasn't gotten anything interesting. And now with the new spoilers Tyler's character is getting set up for yet another fricken love triangle.
I agree with Kat Graham and Bonnie. She hasn't gotten anything either which upsets me because I love her. I actually love all of the characters, aside from Esther and Mikael. I'd just like to see all of them get interesting stories this upcoming season. And apparently Bonnie is supposed to get more this season but that's what they said last season so I don't know. Nina speaks three languages or Kat does? I know Nina speaks English French, and Bulgarian but I didn't know that Kat did aside from English and French. What else does she speak?
Kat speaks three. As far as I am aware Nina is not fluent in French though. She knows only bits but not enough to have a full conversations or can switch at random (like she does with Bulgarian, I think she struggles with it). Kat speaks Spanish fluently. She also speaks a bit of Hebrew and Portuguese. As for Nina getting better, I really think she can only play femme fatales really well as Elena is going into Mia (you know that horrible character she played that had me and everyone's mother wondering how Nina Dobrev got hired) territory for me when it comes to Nina's acting (which could be result of being bored and not trying).
I take any Bonnie "spoilers" or news very cynically as we have been lied to too much and Julie actually thought Bonnie's season three storyline was great.
Caroline's storyline when I re-watched it was exactly the same thing had going on in season 3. I too like Family storylines but they pulled an Elena actually had Caroline not mourn her father and go dancing with someone who try to kill her twice. And then when he was mentioned again they did another Elena thing by making her forgive Elijah. Also agree with folks Caroline's flaws have become non-existent and she was also on screen just to be there alot in season 3. Caroline imo suffers from being overexposed.
Damn Kat. Haha that's such a wide variety too. Don't even get me started on Mia and Degrassi. That was seriously just horrible. I don't like Elena's character that much but her as Katherine is amazing. She just gets a certain look and it's just different from Elena. It's hard to explain the difference of these two different characters when they are played by the same actress.
Julie thought Bonnie's season three arch was great? I swear. Julie is just delusional. Like she lives in a meth lab or something. That whole thing with Caroline going out was really hard to believe. Because I've lived it and I sure as hell didn't go dancing the next day. I'm okay with her being overexposed simply because I love her so much but if they really start to screw with her character even more and mess up everything I'm gonna be pissed.
That was my problem she had got alot scenes she was needed nor belong for example she appeared more in scenes with Abby than Bonnie did. I also don't like Caroline has been designated as Bonnie's mouth piece, that stuff makes me dislike the character. Also don't think Caroline grew in season 3, she got put into trophy status.
BTW Michael I am upset that you are not reviewing Scandal (or have yet to review). Scandal was mad good last week.
Oh wow I completely forgot that I used to review that show! The premiere WAS pretty good, but I thought it was sort of obvious who was behind Quinn's identity (I mean, otherwise WHY hire her, right?). I'm more interested in why did Quinn's boyfriend die — what's going on there? I've always talked about how Olivia isn't exactly a *good* person, but I did enjoy her struggle with getting a mistrial even though she knew Quinn was innocent, since it shows how much it pains her to use her…tricks, I guess. And okay, this has nothing to do with this post so I'll stop here xD
I had a feeling Huck was in on it from his old job but Liv threw me though. I really wondering who hell she knows to pull that type strings. If I had the time I would review Scandal.
As much as I want Klaus to win, I would never suggest that it's rigged if he loses. It's clear that both fandoms love each character, seeing as the voting is pretty close. Win or lose, both sides should be proud of their hard work and dedication they put in for the characters that they love.
Rick grimes!!
