Rebekah vs Stefan: Who was more quotable during last week’s Vampire Diaries?

Let’s get one thing straight: I think we’re all Team Crazy Sex, here, especially after least week’s Vampire Diaries episode “Catch Me If You Can.” Congratulations to the writers of the episode (Brian Young & Michael Carducci) for creating such a quotable hour; we’re all really grateful to you for it. And thanks to them, as well, for giving us a relationship and dynamic that we didn’t even know we wanted until then. (I’m sure Stebekah tag trollers will hate me, so I’ll correct myself: not even I knew I wanted it.)

To be quite honest, the entire episode was wholly quotable. I mean, even Bonnie actually got some punchy dialogue. Bonnie! Somehow that’s even more rare than one of her parents showing up. But with the show’s new dynamic duo during the hour, they all paled by comparison. And thus, we’d like to pay homage… or otherwise write an ode to Crazy “Stebekah” Sex and their spiffy rolodex of one-liners. The only problem is that we can’t even decide who was more quotable — if that’s even possible — or which of their amazing quotes was the best. Perhaps you can help out!

Here are all of their amazing quotes this episode:

“You need a release. Maybe we can find you a voodoo doll or something. Ah, this will do it. The professor’s stash of herbs.”
—On calming Stefan down

“Looks like Shane has a bit of an afterlife fetish.”
—On Professor Shane’s artifacts

“I enjoy other cultures, Stefan. I know that can be hard to understand, considering you dated a child who only thinks about herself.”
—On describing Elena

“It took me a thousand years and hundreds of betrayals to learn that love… and caring… ruins you.”
—On why she wouldn’t wipe Stefan’s memory of Elena away

“You are hardly the model of sanity.”
—After Stefan calls her crazy

“Was it my bastard brother or yours?”
—On figuring out who sent Mystery Man to Shane’s office

“Rescued him from his old, dull life, but it keeps calling.”
—On call with Elena

“Well the White Oak Stake pointed at my heart made it difficult.”
—On why she didn’t dagger Kol

“I know you were daggered for a little while, but knocking… is still a thing.”
—Upon finding Rebekah in his room

“If you’re here to remind me of our last place status, I’m very well aware.”
—On the race for The Cure

“The sex wasn’t good because we didn’t care. It was good because you’re crazy. Crazy sex is always good.”
—Reflecting on The Roaring 20s with Rebekah

“You’re welcome.”
—To Elena, after snapping Damon’s neck

“And once she’s no longer sired and you’re no longer compelled, you can both do whatever you want.”
—To Damon on his newfound compulsion

“And this will be the second time that Damon tried to kill Jeremy. So I guess no one’s perfect, right?”
—To Elena, after asking how he could be working with Rebekah

“You’ve just never seen me like this. You don’t know what I look like when I’m not in love with you.”
—Denying he still has feelings for Elena

“I thought not knocking was our thing.”
—Upon entering Rebekah’s room unannounced

Now that you’re done deciding between both of them in this useless poll — it’s obviously BOTH of them — maybe you can help decide which quote was the best from last week’s extremely quotable “Catch Me If You Can,” even if it’s not from either Rebekah or Stefan. Comment below and tell us your favorite quote from the episode!

But let’s be honest, if this is just the beginning… I can’t wait for more!

  • stefan : you dont know what i look like when i am not in love with you.

can we have tvd photo recaps back now that you are done with GG?

  • Going to give it to Stefan, I mean yeah Rebekah was great too but Stefan had quotes that a) were funny, b) were very true about the show in general and c) hurt Elena. Rebekah's were just good enough to piss Elena off...

  • i love this episode. i love how stefan was not always pining for elena. i'm team stelena all the way but team CrazySex is a good (for now!)

  • They were both soooooo goood!!! I loved, absolutely ADORED all the shade that was thrown at Elena by those two (as well as Matt too). Dang I enjoyed this episode haha! Now if only Bonnie would take her blinders off and see her friend for the self-centered thing she's turned into.

  • Truth. I caught myself hollering a hearty Kelso-of-That-70's-Show "BURN!" to the TV quite frequently this episode.
