Pretty Little Liars ‘I’m Your Puppet’ review: The end is near

Season three of Pretty Little Liars is near its end and the penultimate episode ‘I’m Your Puppet’ continued to build up the suspense to next week’s season finale with a kidnapping (possibly done by one of the liars), a ‘maybe’ breakup that was bound to happen, and a dangerous alliance that may turn out to be a bigger betrayal than Toby’s.

I know I’ve said it before… But this Jamie/Caleb/Hanna storyline is just really boring in my opinion – what do you guys think? I feel like, we’re almost at the season finale and I have like a thousand unanswered question that dates back to some of the very first episodes, so I don’t want to watch some unimportant storyline that has nothing to do with the real problems at hand. I kind of think Emily might feel the same way, based on her reaction to Hanna several times throughout the episode! But I do love me some Haleb, though, so I guess I’ll live.

Also, it looks like Aria finally saw the realness of playing house with Ezra and at least tried to break-up with him. I’m not really sure what their relationship status would be on Facebook right now.. Complicated at the least. It seemed like he had kind of seen it coming though, but didn’t wanted to admit it to himself that it just wasn’t working? We’ll see next week, but for what it’s worth I think she made the right decision. It kind of seemed like she was only doing it because Malcolm was kidnapped (by Spencer!?) and she didn’t wanted him to ever get hurt because of A’s sick games, but looking back on former episodes I think it was just as much because she just can’t look after a kid. She can’t deal with that kind of responsibility at such a young age and she knows that her mom is right. Someone will end up hurt, and it’s going to be her not matter what.

I mentioned last week how much I love the show when it emphasizes the strong bond of friendship the girls have, but this week it might actually seem like they don’t have the unbreakable bond I thought they had or else someone’s just being a very sneaky, clever little girl. I’m going with the latter, just because I’m a sucker for happy endings and because Spencer, in my head at least, is UNBREAKABLE (at least when it comes to loyalty etc). I do, however, enjoy the twist of a possible Spencer/A-Team alliance whether it’s Spencer’s way of destroying them from the inside out, or if she’s really turned to the dark side. At least we’ll no matter what finally get to see who the girl in the red coat is. My money’s still on CeCe, but after the revelation this episode that gives her a huge motive for either killing Ali or being the leader of the A-Team, it just seems too easy. I do think it’s pretty clear at this point though that there’s some kind of connection between Melissa, CeCe and Mona. The show is famous for keeping us guessing and pulling the rug out from under us in the season finale – so I say bring it on!

Notes and thoughts

  • No guys, it’s still not Toby’s body. I refuse to believe it.
  • Everyone thinks Malcolm is so cute and whatnot, I just find him kind of annoying?
  • CeCe, CeCe… I knew you had some dark secrets.
  • CeCe, Melissa and Mona… Hm…
  • Love to Mother Ella <3.
