One cult comedy gets good news today — Dan Harmon has returned to Community — and another does not. Though Vulture reported it yesterday, Deadline is now confirming that USA Network has indeed passed on picking up Happy Endings for a fourth season.
However, production company Sony TV is in fact known for tough negotiations. It’s brought back several series from cancellation, as Deadline notes, including Drop Dead Diva and Unforgettable. Apparently, according to both publications, Sony is still talking to other outlets; they even think the niche comedy would be great on Amazon or Netflix.
So perhaps there’s still hope. Or not. We don’t know. But hopefully!

NOOOOOOOOOO ;_; Happy Endings is so, so, so funny and well-acted and well-written. I am so sad to see such a great show struggling to stay alive. It's a tragedy.
