Big Brother 15 recap: Nick versus Elissa

You know what, guys? It’s episodes like this one where I realize exactly why I love Big Brother.

As has been mentioned time and time again, this season of Big Brother is progressing like none other. The controversy surrounding this only two-week-old season is astounding. And tonight, the house flip moment of the season already arrived, practically half a season early.

I have to say that I’m a bit saddened Nick left the house. He was shaping up to be a favorite player of mine, and if he had kept his social game a bit more intact, he could have cruised to $500,000. Instead, his cold and unreadable personality sort of had people peg him as a mastermind.

And for the most part, they were right.

For Elissa and Helen, it looked like an impossible task to make it through this week. But Candice had already wised up on the boys’ alliance — also known as the now crumbled Moving Company. They wrangled in Amanda, Judd, Andy and Jessie. All they needed was for McCrae to switch, too.

He did. As did Spencer. It was clear that the Moving Company had seen its last secret, hushed meeting.

But did you expect that to happen? (I mean, if you don’t watch the live feeds, that is.) Like they always say, “Expect the unexpected.” I surely should have expected it, then. It’s kind of bittersweet, but I’m also quite excited to see Helen — who won HOH in perhaps the most enduring Q&A competition ever — run the house as everything has been flipped upside down, and it seems almost certain that either Aaryn, Kaitlin or Jeremy will be leaving the house next week.

By the way, if you’re not reading the live feed updates, you’re missing out on some hilarious breakdowns by GinaMarie.

Elsewhere during tonight’s episode, Big Brother will not stop spotlighting Aaryn as an alleged racist. In fact, they aired a segment tonight where Amanda told Aaryn to be cautious of what she says because houseguests are calling her a racist. Aaryn basically rebutted with they make fun of her blonde hair, so it’s basically the same thing. “I wish I could care more about this but I don’t.” Aaaand, I’ll just leave it at that.

Unless something goes horribly awry this week, it’s looking like a predictable one. Then again, on Wednesday night, I fully expected to see Elissa walking out the door. So who knows anymore? Helen might want to keep Aaryn around for their somewhat-real-not–quite-real deal. We’ll see how that goes.

Mostly, I just want to see how the house imploded following Nick’s eviction come Sunday. Why is Sunday so far away?
