Awkward. renewed for a season 4

It’s been a grim time for MTV comedy Awkward. Plenty have outcried at the antiheroic storyline for Jenna this season, ratings have dipped just slightly (from what I hear), and a few weeks ago, it was announced that the original creator and showrunner was stepping down. And in all that time, an announcement for a season four never came.

Deadline is reporting that MTV has hired Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler, who recently had stints as 90210, as the new showrunners. I don’t know how to feel about the original voice being replaced, as Awkward. is just so distinct in that way. But anything for more Awkward., right?

No word on how many episodes or when it will premiere, but it most likely will mirror this season’s order.
