(And by TV, I don’t mean on SNL or award shows, I mean actual scripted television)
Emily Blunt: I’ve been a fan of Emily Blunt since she starred in The Devil Wears Prada, she proved to be an amazing comedic actress. And even in dramatic movies like Queen Victoria and The Adjustment Bureau, she was simply kick-ass. She has this charm that many other female actresses lack — especially the TV ones. Emily Blunt is currently married to John Krasinski (The Office) and has a movie coming up with Jason Segel from How I Met Your Mother and Alison Brie from Community. So that’s three awesome sitcoms she can guest-star on this season. Imagine if she were the mother on How I Met Your Mother? I would totally approve!
Ryan Gosling: Do I really need to explain why I want him on TV every single day for the rest of my life? Ryan Gosling is one of the few actors that can make you root for him even when he’s killing someone (DRIVE!). When I think of him, I quickly think of Ryan Atwood from The OC. He has this broodish bad-boyish vibe that makes us swoon and makes him one of the best by all means. That’s why I’d picture him as a very pretentious jerk (who I’ll obviously love) dating Penny on Happy Endings. Can we make it happen, please? Thank you.
Charlize Theron: If you haven’t watched Arrested Development you need to rethink your life — seriously. Few of my favorite episodes on the show were when Theron guest-starred as Rita Leeds, a mentally handicapped British woman who Michael Bluth was engaged to. Theron was brilliant; her acting was so effortless that she killed every single scene. And now that I’ve seen the trailer of Young Adult, her newest black comedy movie, like 10 times, I demand that she guest-stars on a sitcom this season!
Emma Stone: Okay, forget everything I said about Ryan Gosling and Penny. I want to see Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone together on TV! Let’s give them a Crazy Stupid Love TV spin-off and make it last forever! #50seasonsandavideogame
TV VETS THAT I’D LIKE TO SEE BACK ON MY TV:
Jennifer Aniston: Whether you like her or not, there’s no denying that Jennifer Aniston is a Class A comedic actress — one of the best. And I know she’s busy doing corny movies, but how epic would it be if she returned as the jerk of a therapist in Cougar Town? The Friends reunion in season 2 (I miss Monica and Rachel so much!) was one of my favorite episodes of not only that season but of the show so far, so if she returned for only a few episodes, it would be amazing. (Plus, it’ll boost the ratings a little #LongLivePennyCan)
George Clooney: Admit it, if he had a show on TV, you’d glue yourself to the couch every single week and watch every single episode. I know I would. Clooney has it all, and has everything TV needs: A sense of humor, charisma, and a lot of talent. So how about we give him an awe-striking political drama (a la Homeland) to star in?
What about you guys? Which movie stars would you like to have on your TV screen? Go crazy!
