Fringies, OMG, I have NO words for Friday’s episode. Ok, I have, but they are not understandable. It was too awesome. I hope this isn’t gigantic, but anyway, let’s begin.

Etta, Walter and Simon at the subway (?).

The episode started with a text in Star Wars style that told us what happened. Turns out that in the year of 2015, the Observers took over the planet and, in spite of the effort the Fringe Team made to fight back, they were quickly overcome. Or so they thought.

Then we see a girl – who looks totally like Olivia, by the way – walking and she enters a sophisticated club, where an Observer grabs a girl and the owner of the place (?) punches him after a discussion. Two men hold the owner and another Observer makes him bleed through his ears. Until the girl shows up and takes care of it.

The three go outside and the guy says that he had to piss the Observer off so that he wouldn’t try to “read” him. “But he read you. And you fulled him.” Apparently our girl is special. And she loves it.

They walk towards a van talking and we get to know that the guy found something, it’s important but they don’t show us what. And when he was telling her about where the others (whatever or whoever they are) were, someone shot him. She grabbed the keys and went away with the van.

There’s a curfew and the girl stops the van somewhere. She gets inside of its back and reveals what the dead guy found. And HOLLY MOTHER OF GOD IT’S AMBER’D WALTER! Ok, I knew it because of the promo, but anyway… The new opening was the coolest thing ever. Period.

Then the girl enters a building where a man is talking about the resistance and how Loyalists (people marked by the Observers, loyal to them) were a problem because they killed their people. I’m guessing they are part of the resistance. He’s like her boss and they walk outside. And there are coffee chews. So, no coffee. Just like OT.

We find out her name is Etta and that she kept touch with Rick (the guy from the club) for info on the missing team. Wait a sec, is she talking about… Yep, she’s talking about them. They are a myth! That’s so cool.

The Observer who made the guy bleed from his ears, who seems to be important, goes to visit Broyles to tell him about the Native (normal people) on Native killing. Broyles is so old and cute in his oldness. Ok, not cute but it’s so nice to see that he’s still active. The Observer threatens Broyles and when he’s about to leave Broyles asks him what did they do that was so terrible that they had to take over so it wouldn’t happen? He answers with “I like animals” what I think means that they screwed up the planet badly.

Meanwhile, Simon and Etta are trying to think of a way to get Walter out of the amber since it solidifies itself again after a few seconds, making it impossible for him to get out before he got trapped again. And there goes Etta, requesting old tech from the Fringe Division.

With that thing they throw Walter out of the amber, literally. And the first thing he asks for is food. I can’t say I’m really surprised. And the food they give him is licorice. Well done, Simon.

Turns out the Fringe Team created a way to get rid of the Observers. That’s something I’d like to see. Unlike Walter, who is completely concentraded in licorice. And that’s when they realize he’s crazy something’s wrong. They take him to a MRI machine and Simon keeps telling him to stay still. Walter breaks my heart by calling him Peter and they assume he has brain damage because of the way he was thrown out of amber.

Etta goes to the Ministry of Science to talk to Nina Sharp (not without having a creepy Observer read her mind first) and she is pretty rude. Oh, Nina was only pretending. She asks Etta if they made progress on Walter’s thing to get rid of the Observers and she shows her Walter.

He doesn’t remember her, but he’s adorably crazy. Nina believes that the only way to fix him is to get the removed pieces of his brain and use it to inspire the brain to heal itself. But it’s on Massive Dynamic and that’s way too close to the Observers. But whatever, they are too badass to not go there.

While Nina is on the phone, Walter fix her hand. In like, two seconds. He is so cute wanting to go to the circus in the middle of this mess. They take him to the subway (?) but he screams “monster” at an Observer and an officer stops them to know what’s going on but they get out of the bad situation by saying that Walter was Etta’s crazy grandfather which is completely true. Oh, and Star Wars reference: 10 points, Fringe. Of course Walter had to steal a candy.

Then they break into Massive Dynamic and Walter feels like he’s already been there. That’s because you have, Walter. And all is well until a man from Fringe Division reports a break into Massive Dynamic.

Inside Massive Dynamic, Simon picks up the piece of Walter’s brain and they talk about faeces and drugs. “I love LSD.” That’s the Walter Bishop I know. Simon says he’s going to inject the solution into Walter’s brain and he’s very excited about that, until he begins to feel sleepy.

After the injection, which we don’t see, Simon and Etta talk and we find out more about both their pasts. Simon was a freshman in college in 2015, when “The Purge” happened. When he saw on tv Observers dragging people out of their homes and “putting them down like dogs” he knew that his parents were part of the resistance, that they’d send him away for school so that he’d be safe. They were killed that night and that was when he knew he wouldn’t give up until the Observers had gone. Etta was only four when she last saw her parents. She can’t even picture their faces anymore. And then she touches her pendant (it’s the first time I noticed this, but watching the episode again, she had touched it earlier). I felt so sorry for both of them; I’m so angry with the Observers I can’t even… *sigh*. Where is September, by the way?

And then Walter wakes up waaay more serious, more than I remember him to be now. Walter asks what year is it but there’s no time because the creepy Observer from the beginning of the episode and officers from what I believe is Fringe Division are planning on basically killing them.

Walter says that not all Observers are bad. There was one that helped them, September. I love you, Septy. And he told them what happened, what was basically what I said before. They screwed up the planet so badly they had to come back in time and take it from normal people. But he can build the machine to get rid of the Observers. When Etta mentions the old team, he looks at her strangely and says “you…”. Hm, maybe he meant that she’s totally Olivia and Peter’s daughter because she looks just like Olivia interesting.

But they weren’t at the subject for long because they had to run for their lives! Well, until Walter stopped to make a little bomb, which only made the building disappear completely. Pff, that’s nothing for Walter! Let’s go get the rest of the ambered team!

Already in the room with the rest of the team, Simon asks what was that with Walter about and she answers with a australian slang that means he’s mentally unstable. Etta goes to check the wand to see if it’s powered up. Simon totally knows something is up, by the way.

The officer from the subway calls Broyles to talk about what happened earlier, so Broyles orders to activate Simon’s tracker. Oh noes. Speak of Simon, he says some beautiful words about hope to Walter, who answers being quite rude. What is up with Walter? Something terrible must have happened because he’s really changed.

They throw Astrid out with the wand and Walter is a little more of himself calling her Astro. The wand is broken, but Simon believes he can fix it. Then we see Walter and Astrid staring at William Bell. Oh my God! He isn’t dead? And why did Walter shushed Astrid when she made her “what on Earth” face?

To make things worse, Simon’s tracker is interfering with the signal from the buffers and the only way to get the other team member (Peter, of course, since we can see it’s a man) out is to push him, like Simon says. But then he’d be the one caught in amber! Simon, no! I actually screamed that. But he does continue with the plan and when Broyles gets there, Simon is stuck on amber and there’s no one and nothing there but a licorice candy. Makes you wonder, huh, Broyles.

Meanwhile, Astrid and Walter discuss about William Bell inside a bus. Apparently he did something so bad to Olivia that Walter left him there. When Astrid says they need him, Walter picks up a hand from inside his bag, saying that they have everything they need. If Bell did something that caused Olivia’s death/misery/pain, I’m gonna kill him.

And now the moment everyone was waiting for. Peter’s return! But seriously, where is Olivia?! I’m guessing she’s dead since she has to die in every future according to September, but I’m in denial, ok?

Moving on with the actual story, Peter tells Etta that they’ll do everything they can to rescue Simon and she nods. She is holding the pendant and they don’t break visual contact, like, never. Peter looks so sad, though. And then Etta asks if he knows her. He answers saying that he doesn’t know how he could, since he’s been stuck on amber for twenty years. But then… “Henrietta?” “Hi dad.” BAM. I’M DEAD. RIP Camila, crazy Fringie and fangirl. And they hug and it’s so sad and happy at the same time and I’m so emotional at that scene that I still get chills. And then the episode ended. Just like that.

That was it, Fringies. Who loved this episode just as much as me raise your hand! It was amazing, right? I’m dying to have this plot as season 5. Just a quick note. If Peter was stuck in amber for twenty years and the last time Etta saw her parents she was four, she is twenty four years old now. 2036 minus 24 equals 2012. Which means Olivia is pregnant NOW. Ok, I revived and died again after this. So many emotions. And Henrietta. Look at her name, OMG, I can’t with this show. See you next week, Fringies.
