America’s Next Top Model recap: Off to Macau!

This week, the British girls are leading the competition 4 to 2, and they seem to be going strong while the remaining Americans, Laura and Eboni, are going after each other. Laura doesn’t like Eboni because she thinks she is vain, but really who does Laura like on this show?

Nigel comes over to the house and brings the girls some Chinese food to eat and some fortune cookies which revealed that the girls are off to an Asian island and they were leaving IMMEDIATELY! I freak out when I only have a few days to pack for a trip. I can’t imagine being these girls and only having a few minutes!

Once the girls arrive on the island of Macau they all go on about their struggles to become models as they bask in the beauty of their new surroundings and they receive a full welcome at the hotel from Jay and a bunch of dancers.  However, it isn’t all fun and games. Alisha is cranky after the 15 hour flight and she doesn’t take kindly to Sophie ‘touching her stuff,’ as she tells Catherine over and over and over. I guess the British girls have drama too, huh?

Miss Jay meets the girls at the challenge, where they are going to get an astrological reading that will help them figure out what they ‘need.’ After their readings, the girls have to use make-up and wardrobe to create their new aura based on the reading.  Once all the girls present their new auras, it is decided that the person with the most changed aura is Laura, who won a spa day at the hotel, along with her remaining teammate, Eboni, despite the tension between them.

The photo shoot this week had the girls modeling silk gowns while accessorized with silk worms, which grosses most of the girls out a little bit.  However, Laura was in her element, since she loves bugs, and she had a great shoot while Eboni, Catherine, and Alisha all struggled.

At the judging, it isn’t surprising that all the British girls get bad critiques except for Annaliese. We all know that a British girl has to go home this week to at least semi-even things out. Laura continues owning this week and gets the best picture and Alisha and Catherine are left in the bottom two.  Alisha made her dress look bad, but Catherine just bombed her shoot completely and she is sent home.

Next week Laura and Eboni fight some more and the girls have to do a photo shoot from the top of a building. Who freaks out? From the promo, it appears that Sophie will, but I bet she won’t be the only one!
