Yes, next week all of the big networks are announcing their new schedules, so it’s no wonder that their renewals/cancellations are rolling in. While some networks are awfully quiet about which one gets the boot, (I’m looking at you CW!) some are already spreading their pick-up joy!
At Fox, they’ve ordered five new series, three comedies and two dramas. As expected they’ve ordered the Mindy Kaling comedy, which is now called It’s Messy!, and the Kevin Williamson project The Following. (Aka Mastermind!)
The other two comedies are The Goodwin Games and Ben & Kate, this one used to have that awful name Ben is My Manny. One I did not expected to be in this is list, is The Mob Doctor. Yes The Mob Doctor is actually coming to Fox. I don’t know really if I’m happy with this. So that means no pickup for all of the other pilots, except one. Fox could pick-up Guilty post-upfronts, so we’ll have to wait a couple of weeks to be sure.
You don’t get to have pickups without some cancellations…Alcatraz and The Finder will not be returning for a second season! I really liked Alcatraz, so this is a bummer. Touch fans rejoice because this one is coming back y’all!
How do feel about comedies at NBC, because you will be getting at least six new comedies this year. NBC has picked up comedies 1600 Penn, Animal Practice, Save Me, Go On, Guys with Kids and Ryan Murphy’s The New Normal. NBC also picked up dramas Chicago Fire and Revolution. These drama’s will be joining Hannibal. NBC is also thinking about ordering a drama about pirates. Basically they’ve been ordering a lot of new series. I hope this is not bad news for their already airing series.
Check out this great promotional photo with their monkey!
There is also some good news for the Law & Order: SVU fans, because the very long-running show has been renewed!
This is only the beginning of a very exiting week, concluding next thursday when USA Network and The CW will be announcing their schedules for 2012-2013!
Are you satisfied with their pickups? Or are you like me a little bit disappointed, I really thought that El Jefe or Rebounding would make the cut. Or at least one of the spy dramas for Fox! If you were a vet, would you hire a monkey named Dr. Zaius?

I'm not sure about most of the shows, but Revolution sounds really cool. Erik Kripke and J.J. Abrams together sound like an awesome mix!
I'm dying to see Chicago Fire, Hot Firefighters gimmie a piece please!!!!
omg i can't wait for cw to announce their new Fall lineup
Besides Hannibal, Revolution and Chicago Fire, the rest of the NBC pilots will be cancelled after less than 3 episodes.
HAHAH I think you're right!!
Hannibal and the Mindy Kaling show sound so awesome. Most of the comedies sound extremely mediocre.
Is it just me or does Animal Practice sound superhilarious. But the rest is meh, yeah indeed.
