Whisper-Talkers Tourney Day 8: TVD’s Klaus versus True Blood’s Eric

It’s day 8 of our Best Whisper-Talkers Tourney. Two days ago, we began the right side of our bracket with Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s Angel and The Secret Circle‘s Adam going head to head. Angel beat out Adam and is the victor; he will be moving on to the quarterfinals later on in the week. Right now, we’ve got two other vampires going toe to toe: it’s everyone’s favorite bad boys from The CW’s The Vampire Diaries and HBO’s True Blood.

Whether Klaus is threatening Elena and company or Eric is giving orders (or acting like Sookie’s plaything), these two whisper — definitely. But the question is: which whisperer do you like most? Will it be the Vampire Diaries‘s Big Bad or will it be True Blood‘s bad boy love interest? Time to decide below!

You can vote as many times as you’d like. This poll closes Thursday at 3pm ET. Check out the entire tournament bracket by clicking here. Next up: Brooke Davis versus Elena Gilbert.

Round 1: Chuck Bass vs Emily Thorne | Winner: Chuck Bass
Round 2: Tina Belcher vs Marge Simpson | Winner: Tina Belcher
Round 3: John Casey vs Jack Donaghy | Winner: John Casey
Round 4: Jack Bauer vs John Reese | Winner: John Reese
Round 5: Angel vs Adam Conant | Winner: Angel
Round 6: Klaus Mikaelson vs Eric Northman | Vote above!
Round 7: Brooke Davis vs Elena Gilbert | VOTE HERE!
Round 8: Rick Grimes vs Scott McCall | Opens Thursday!

  • "Klaus is threatening Elena and company"??Michael, you're joking, right??Eric may have lost some of his badassery (is that a word??) last year, when he became Sookie's lapdog, but this year he was definitely on his way back to his former self (if we can forget the whole incident with Pam at Fangtasia).Klaus is not a threat to anyone!!Eric for the win!!

  • How are people letting Klaus win...dude is hardly a villain. Had a ton of build up only for it to amount to nothing in the end.

  • Seriously, I love Eric but Klaus is the best!

I like Klaus because he is cruel and machiavellian, but also very vulnerable and romantic. He keeps saying that love is the greatest weakness of a vampire, but he himself has a pathological need of love for centuries. It is unstable and psychotic, and he stabbed her whole family just because they love them so much that he could not stand they leave, it slowly falls in love with Caroline, but at the same time it continues to hurt the person she loves.

I love Eric in season 1 and 2, but I hate what they did to his character, especially in Season 5. In season 5 he could have become the big bad it was before but it was Bill who took this role, while Eric is turning into a pale imitation u Bill of season 1.

    Klaus of course !!!

  • Vampire viking God or the pussy whipped pony drawer who was supposed to be the villian? Huh hard choice. And btw, Klaus is not older than Eric.

          • drawing that "pony" was the best thing that could happen. In every evil theres also good, u cant have only one...:P...Btw, Eric....XD...No thank u....I think True blood its twisted btw, I tried wathchin it for one episode and it was...sick. Im sorry, but thats the only thing I think about True blood...

      • His drawing-for-Caroline obsession really pissed me off when he burned his sketches after he thought she had betrayed him!!And the whole begging her for her attention thing was a totally WTF moment!!But the moment I stopped rooting for Klaus (as a character) was when he showed he didn't even care that his brother had just died and he only wanted Bonnie to unlink the siblings only to protect himself not his family. And a million other things he did since then that I'm too bored to write!!

  • Klaus has hardly been a threat. His potential is a good villain was ruined after season two. They turned his character in to someone who people suddenly feel the need to sympathise and coddle. ( Which is sad and normal for this show cause they lack to ability to write the non human villains as villains.Instead they constantly make the humans the bad guys and make it seem as if these vamps can do no wrong) He's been put in to yet another foolish triangle on this show. Wasting his time drawing ponies and breaking up teenage relationships doesn't make a villain. If they KEPT him as a villain and continued the hybrid storyline - which was a waste of time in the end - and didn't waste the build up of him supposedly being intimidating and badass for him to amount to NOTHING but yet another guy chasing after Caroline, THEN there would be something to talk about. Boo hoo he killed aunt Jenna. So what. He stopped being a villain and a well written character ages ago. In fact now is character serves no purpose other than pulling obsessed fangirls in to watch a 2nd triangle.
