Oliver Queen is back, with a bang! As most of you guys may already know, Arrow was my most anticipated pilot of this fall and it most certainly did not disappoint. (Except those voiceovers, who in earth was in charge of those voiceovers? Because I’m coming after you!)

It was kind of a shame that I felt like I almost saw everything from all those previews, but I still enjoyed it. Because you know, that’s the downside of all those previews. You can’t enjoy a decent pilot properly without being spoiled…

Anyway, back to Arrow. It wasn’t very pilot-y, thank God. Plus I didn’t mind the flashbacks, that’s a good thing because those aren’t going anywhere soon. Imagine loathing them while having to look at them a whole season long… the horror! I just hope they’ll be cutting those cheesy voiceovers.

Really, the only thing that annoyed me were those voiceovers. Arrow starts off with very likable and well written characters, and the action was top-notch. (The same goes for Amell’s abs, The CW knows how to lure in the girls after all!) It was nice to see a good use of Cassidy’s acting abilities, those were thrown in the drain during her arc in Gossip Girl.

They kept me intrigued storywise, but really who would ever want to harras their son after being stranded on an island for five years? That’s just crazy, Arrow’s mom! It remains to be seen, how Arrow will evolve after the pilot. Will it be the bad-guy-of-the-week type of thing, like we saw in the pilot or not? But I have faith that they’ll follow The Green Arrow mythology. (Plus I read too many spoilers, haha!)

Let’s talk about our Arrow, Amell did a terrific job in portraying the different Olivers. From the superdouchebag, to our hero. The sudden changes in his persona were actually quite funny; I’m surprised that the best friend was the only one noticing this. Amell is a great male lead and is supported by a great cast.

Arrow is definitely worth the watch! (Even if you don’t like abs.)
