Marshmallows rejoice! Just in case you haven’t been on the Internet at all today, here’s a bit of good news: after years of making our voices heard, the Veronica Mars feature film will actually become a reality… well, that is, of course, if fans can raise $2 million in time.

Here’s the thing: it appears that’s going to be very likely. Series creator Rob Thomas started a KickStarter campaign for the show where he stated that if they could raise $2 million, it would be a done deal. The campaign began earlier today and has already collected more than $1.6 million — in fact, it was the fastest KickStarter campaign ever to hit $1 million, in less than four hours!

And with 30 days left to go, the numbers keep going up by the minute. CLICK HERE TO PLEDGE.

Now, there’s a lot of talk of how this might or might not be good for future artistic endeavors, with big studios still controlling the project. But if all goes well, we should be seeing a Veronica Mars movie in early 2014.
