Just a quick review of Chuck below…

Last week, I avoided writing a review for Chuck because it was an… interesting… episode. That doesn’t mean it was particularly bad or even not entertaining. It was just… interesting, as I said. And then it included that ending, which maybe (I don’t know, I haven’t really read around the Internet) some people might have called the definitive jumping the shark moment. At least in this case, unlike Morgan, Sarah was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I just feel like Sarah could kick ass this way without the Intersect. But whatever, I realize now that it was needed for the plot of the last two hours of the show. And you know what, I’m not mad at them. I once said during a review this season that all I want is to spend time with these characters, and I think that reliving the Chuck and Sarah story would be not only entertaining, but beautiful, and heartbreaking, and hilarious, and intense. And I’m really okay with it. I even love the idea. (In fact, that last minute felt like Chuck in a way the show hasn’t for a while.)

I don’t have much to say about this episode without basically berating it going way too far. I’d rather have Jeff and Lester not know about the spy world. This Quinn story should have been handled a bit earlier on, in my opinion. There was one highlight: Chuck and Sarah still have their spark.

And that’s why I think next week’s finale will be absolutely fantastic. These “epic five seasons” will end with two epic hours of awesome. It’s only fitting they center around the most powerful and important dynamic on the show.

I don’t care if Chuck uploads the Intersect or not. In fact, I think I’d rather him not and just have them buy that house and live the life they’ve been yearning for so long. But at the same time, I can envision an ending where he does, and Chuck and Sarah (and Morgan and Casey) have to fly off to Jakarta for some mission.

I can’t wait for the two hour swan song. I can’t… and I can. It’s a weird feeling. I want to know how these characters will finish their stories, but I also don’t want them to end. It’s almost a necessary evil.

However the show ends next week, expect nothing but a love letter after it’s over from me. Thank you for the epic five seasons Chuck team, I can’t wait to see how you’ll tie it all up. (And yet, I can.)
