The Gossip Girl writers, just a few minutes ago, decided to tweet quite the cryptic season 6 picture on their profile. It’s nothing but a link to a TwitPic image with a vase of flowers and a notepad that reads “Gossip Girl season 6!”
Is it flowers from higher ups congratulating them? (Not likely.) Or that they’re beginning work on next season — which technically has not been renewed. That said, they wouldn’t officially be working on the new season without an actual renewal, right? Or am I just naïve? Perhaps the latter.
Yesterday, The CW renewed The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and 90210. Word on any other show’s renewal chances have been slim, except Gossip Girl, which seems like a final season of 13 episodes is at this point a sure thing.

I hope they pick Gossip Girl for season 6! Although, I was hoping for "not a shortened season series finale" but better have that than nothing. I thought they'll last long same as One Tree Hill, or longer. I can't imagine life after Gossip Girl. :(

Guys, they're peonies! Blair's favorite flowers. Peonies have made several appearances in pivotal times in Blair's life, usually as a gift from Chuck (remember the season 2 finale? the season 3 finale? and in other instances before and after that).
So I'm guessing...season 6 is also Blair-centric? Because as much as I love HBIC Blair, if they can't keep her in character, I don't know if I can take another season of The Whiny Blair Show.
On the other hand, according to spoilers, Blair chooses Chuck in the season 5 finale, but I don't think he takes her back. So this might prompt her to return to being the old Blair, once and for all? Will we witness a Blair empowerment in season 6? Maybe that's what the peonies stand for; the return of vintage Blair. *fingers crossed*
I sincerely hope it does NOT get picked up. I used to love the show despite several inconstancies, especially in seasons 2 and 3, but now--- look at what everyone has turned into. Serena was always a flightly airhead but now she's a flighty airhead and sociopathic bimbo. Her entire arc this season has been about what exactly? Blair used to be this wildly entertaining, inspiring, gorgeous, comical overachiever. Now she's a bloody moron with no sense of direction, bad hair, and terrible fashion sense. Nate was always lacking a brain, but now he's just painful to watch as he stews in his stupidity, and sleeps with any relevant guest star. Chuck is an insufferable loser. Get over it already. Once an intriguing playboy, now some bizarre mix of deranged and pathetic. Dan was funny, sweet, genuine and honest- a real catch. Now he's some pretentious snob in desperate need of a workout regime, healthy calories, and a hair cut. Penn used to be such a hottie. Now he looks like your typical Williamsburg hobo, I mean, hipster.
I cannot see any of the characters arriving at a fully satisfying redemption. The only reason people watch the show is to see if Blair is going to end up with Dan or Chuck---she's a bore to watch with both. Dan and Blair are a huge disappointment.
The scheme last week was so hard to follow. Did anyone understand that drivel? Codes? Prostitutes? Gossip Girl? Unattended laptops? Bart? Wha?
Ivy is the only likable character at the moment. That's quite sad since she is supposed to be the antagonist to the characters were supposed to like.
And if though I will miss your awesome recaps...I can't justify a series with this poor of a writing staff to be allowed to continue. Josh Safran should find out what he really wants to do with his life- because writing should be something he stops attempting to pursue professionally.

Well if that is how all the scripts looked for that past 2 seasons no wonder GG is such a mess right now, I actually hope it gets cancelled! I don't recognize any of the characters anymore. I know viewers started hating Serena ever since s3 but right now I could hate anyone more than Blair!
