How intense was this episode, you guys?! It was really great; they’ve upped their game for the final five episodes of the season. Before this episode, I couldn’t really see why Liber8 was so dangerous in the future or even in the present. Sure they’ve murdered a couple of people, but the threat was never really alarming. This episode showed us that violence isn’t their biggest threat, their knowledge is their greatest weapon! And also, Kiera got played!

It all started with a seemingly harmless demonstration for transparency. It was kind of ridiculous that Kiera didn’t know what they meant with transparency, ok she’s from the future but she’s not dumb! Or the future sucks basically.

After the previous fight with Alec, Julian decided to do something about his beliefs and joined an anarchistic movement. They went to the same demonstration and began to trash everything. The big boss of Exotrol (the business everyone was demonstrating about) decided to flee the building but was kidnapped by Travis in the process. At first they couldn’t see who took her, because the security cameras were scrambled. Which struck me as odd, because that security dude was proclaiming he had more access in the security world than the police.

It didn’t really take long for Liber8 to air an online stream of the big boss, organizing a switch. 20 million dollars for the boss or she would die! They agreed on this to lure them out of their cages, but it backfired. Liber8 ordered the police to give the money to the people who were demonstrating. ‘Give the money back to the people!’ Another stream emerged where the people could decide if the big boss would die or not. Whilst waiting they could also read the manifesto of Liber8. This was a great way to reach to the people, people love to be in charge and it was a great way to circulate their manifesto!

Meanwhile, it became clear that the kidnapping wasn’t all on Liber8. A few men of Exotrol made the arrangements for the kidnapping but it blew up in their faces. They never agreed on her dying and Liber8 had their own agenda! I knew that the lady wasn’t going to die, but I thought Kiera would save her or something. Turns out this lady and mostly every big boss like her in America, had been scamming the regular people and had been tapping in their pension funds. Liber8 just wanted an online confession of this lady, which she made under the impression that she was going to die.

Our Alec also told his stepfather and mother the truth about Julian, the father became rather violent towards his son when he confronted him. If I was Julian, I would be pissed too. He was finally doing something proactive, something that he thought was right and every family member is dissing him. Anyway, yeah Alec just created an enemy. An enemy who happens to live in the same house! Ruh-roh!

Ok yeah, I almost forgot about Kellog! He’s just looking out for himself, and stole the missing piece of the time travel device from Kiera’s apartment! Kiera has every right to distrust him, but how long will it take for her to realize Kellog is the culprit!

All in all, this was the best episode yet! It gave us a taste of how intense the final episodes could be with Liber8 creating a name for themselves. (And Kiera’s husband is still a douche!)
