I literally banged my head several times on my desk! What, Shanna? Couldn’t be right, right! Unfortunately Ryan didn’t know how or what to write for Shanna’s personality, so she was given the next exit.
This week and next week’s theme is all about the acting, and it was about time. This is a factor that is easily overlooked in this talent competition. And I’m glad their focus is on acting right now.
I thought their homework assignment was all kinds of awkward; I surely couldn’t be the only one who thought that their performance was all over the place and plain awkward. Anyway guest mentor Darren Criss loved it and crowned Blake the winner. About time that Blake won something, he’s one of the few who actually can sing AND act.
For their video of “We Found Love,” they were paired up. Two straight couples and a lesbian couple. Blake got to choose his own partner and chose Ali, which pissed Lilly off because she has a little crush on Blake. Her crush for Blake quickly moved to a crush for Michael when he was revealed as her partner. I think she just desperately wants to be loved. No, I’m just kidding! Lilly’s just like any other hormonal teenage girl.
In the studio things were not looking good for Blake and Shanna while the constant struggling Michael did great with the harmonies. Nikki was referencing Blake’s inability to harmonize as his only flaw, which would probably land him in the bottom three this time.
But as expected Blake and Ali did fantastic in their music video, Lily and Michael also did great but I wasn’t really feeling it. The mentors loved them, but it felt bland and not exciting at all. The real problem situated with Aylin and Shanna, both had trouble with making it seem very real and not forced.
This was the first week that all the bottom three contestants were the best ones on the competition. The mentors saved Michael and Lilly, which was unfair to me and to the other contestants. Just because Blake couldn’t harmonize they send them to the bottom three? He did an excellent job in the video, while Michael and Lilly did not. Where is the logic in that…?
All three of them did an okay job on their last performance; I wasn’t really blown away by any of them. Ryan loved Aylin, he loves her personality, her background and everything she does while performing before him. So it had to be between Blake and Shanna. I really admire Shanna for speaking up about the bottom three contestants while the others didn’t say a word but were thinking it.
Because a christian girl isn’t really a new thing on Glee, Ryan decided to eliminate Shanna and kept the potential heartthrob and muslim girl. I don’t know how I will feel if Lilly or Michael would win this competition, they don’t deserve it at this point.
