So, by the standard of the two first episodes this season, and really just Pretty Little Liars  in general, this week’s episode ‘Cat’s Cradle’ was a bit… well, boring. Or was I the only one who thought so? Either way a few noticeable things did happen, so lets just get to it, yeah?

First of all it’s pretty obvious that ‘A’ (or whoever it is at this point) is targeting the liars’ mothers. That’s just mean! I mean, what did they ever do to … See, that’s really the problem, isn’t it? We have absolutely no idea who’re the bad guys anymore. Of course Melissa’s not exactly on team liars, but basically it could be anyone. Anyway, because of the targeting of the dear mothers, Aria pushed Elle to go to Vienna with her boyfriend Zack, who will be away for ‘less than a year’. She’s obviously did this to protect her mother, which makes me wonder, can’t they just all move? I reckon they’d have to move to separate places on the planet, but still, isn’t it better than being tormented every day of the week? Nah, liars for life and all that!

Emily’s mother also got targeted this week, and honestly I don’t think ‘A’ had to do much to make social services look into the Fields family. I mean, that girl gets hurt so often I figure it was only a matter of time before someone started asking question or gave her 15% off at her next visit to the hospital. Of course we all know mother Fields would never hurt Emily, but as we all know, A can make everyone look guilty. Speaking of, mother Marin looks more and more guilty, doesn’t she? Could she really have killed Wilden? Nothing’s impossible in Rosewood, but either way I’m sure A will pin the murder on her or make Hanna take the fall.

In other family news – Melissa/The bitch is back! Was it just me or did she hint to Spencer that it something big’s about to happen when she suggested they both left town if they knew what was best for them? Does she actually care about Spencer? I thought it was a brilliant question to ask Spencer back though – Who would she choose if it came down to it? Her sister, or her friends? Is blood really thicker than loyalty?

Toby and Spencer/Nancy Drew decides to investigate Toby’s mother’s supposed suicide further and splits up from the other liars to go to Radley (seriously, who’d want to go back to that creepy place?). Seems like his mother might’ve been pushed? That’s a mystery I’m not sure how’s relevant, but we’ll see. Oh and, yes, ‘A’ has always felt like a she, but nothing’s certain!

While Toby and Spencer revisit the place of horror, the other girls go to another place of horror, or just downright creepiness, to investigate the mask molded in Alison’s facial structure. The very creepy man who created the mask reveals that Ali wanted him to make masks for her friends so they could look like her (narcissistic, much?). While Emily and Aira are preoccupied with the creepy mask maker, Hanna discovers another familiar face among the masks – Melissa. Quite a coincidence, is it not?

That was pretty much it, wasn’t it? As I said, kind of a boring episode, felt like a filler to me. Oh right, the whole Jake/Aria thing is happening, apparently. Let’s just skip that, yeah? We all know they’re not endgame, but he’s not bad to look at at least.

Let’s hope next week’s episode will be more exciting, yeah? Until then liars!
