I’m sure some people will outcry but here we are with a slightly new look. Okay, perhaps slight isn’t the correct word. But nothing has truly changed. The posts go there. The featured ones go there. The sidebar contains the same information.
Oh, except we’re doing stars instead of letter grades now. Personally, I just feel like stars are better recognized and interpreted in the arts industry, regardless.
It’s been a year since we’ve had a proper redesign, which most would consider short, but I’m someone who likes to change things up every now and again. It keeps things fresh, and stuff gets stale quick in my eyes. Last year, I focused way too much on trying to organize every little thing and compartmentalizing everything. This year, I’m embracing the blog within. You may have noticed that slight tweak a couple of weeks ago on the homepage. It’s almost frustrating to have your site counter your philosophy of it.
I’m just trying to blog here, and stuff was getting in the way, is the gist of it. Especially in the backend of it, there were about a bajillion and two settings to publish a review. So, for the most part, it’s all streamlined and easier. And now instead of worrying about what everything means and where everything should be placed, I can just worry about the content. (Even though I’m still hoping it looks like a blog, but like a nice, polished up one, y’know? And not one that looks like a puked up version of the American flag, which is just disrespectful, in my opinion.)
Plus it don’t look half bad on mobile!
So maybe that’s not the best excuse. But it’s the only one I got! And I really do apologize if you hate it or something and now you want to run away forever. I mean, it’s the same! Just a bit different, is all. It’s like if you changed your clothes because it was the next day. Same, but just a wee bit different.
We cool? Cool. And as usual, if you’re looking to blog about TV or film, too, then drop us a line. Check out the “write for us” tab up above.
