Finale Part 2: The Guy or Girl Who Becomes America’s Next Top ModelThis week, in part two of the season finale, we were supposed to find out which of the three finalists has already been taken out of the running for the grand prize.  We know Jourdan has to be safe, because there has to be a guy and a girl in the final two, and Tyra announces that her competitor is Marvin.  It’s disappointing because Corey is different and awesome and obviously the best person, but it is unsurprising.  Marvin is conventional and a typical male model, so of course he has a lot of fans.  Corey still gets to walk in the fashion show, but he is pretty broken up about his elimination, so he really has to push through for some fierceness.

Before the models walk, we get to see the ‘Dangerous Love’ fashion movie the finalists made.  Corey looks super badass in it and it really is a pity he didn’t make it to the top 2.  Marvin’s acting seems really stilted and just plain bad, but maybe that is in part because he has to work opposite Jourdan the whole time.  When they walk the runway, Jourdan’s dress gets caught on her heel and she stumbles a bit on her first trip, although she doesn’t fall down.  It’s not the end of the world, and we’ve seen girls win who do worse, but she is freaking about backstage about it.

The second trip includes a little acting interlude that served as the ending of their movie, with Jourdan knocking down Corey and making out with Marvin.  It was very cheesy, but the rest of the show went down without a hitch.

The next day Marvin and Jourdan have their photos taken by Tyra.  Both models did well and they both took the time to gush about how amazing Tyra is after the shoot, because it’s been a while since we’ve praised her, so it really could be anyone’s game at this point.

At the final judging, the models are judged on their entire body of work, including this week’s fashion show and the photo that Tyra shot.  The judges raved about both finalists in the runway show, although Jourdan got a little criticism for her performance in the acting part of the show. Obviously the look at their past photos contains both good and bad photos, as it is supposed to, so both models seem to be about on the same level with the judges and deliberation is very tough for them.  Finally the winner is announced and it is…Jourdan! It’s slightly surprising because I thought they would go with the guy in this first boys vs. girls cycle, but Jourdan is pretty much the prime example of a ‘model,’ no matter how annoying she was.

I’m a bit disappointed because Jourdan was my least favorite of the top three, but I understand it. How do y’all feel? Are you disappointed too?
