When there were talks last year that David E. Kelly was creating a Wonder Woman TV show, I quickly thought of Erica Durance. Why? Because to me, and to many many Smallville fans, she was the ultimate bad-ass Lois Lane. She was funny, beautiful, and she threw a few kicks and punches. The departure of her and the show broke our hearts. What made us smile again? The fact that she’s reviving yet another DC Comics character, Wonder Woman, on Harry’s Law… uhm, kinda.
According to her Q&A with TVGuide, her character, Annie Billson, is a mentally unstable woman who believes that she’s in fact Wonder Woman. And by believing so, she starts taking justice into her own hands, vigilante-style, hurting a lot of people in the process.
She also gets to dress up for the role! The Wonder Woman suit she’ll be wearing in the episode is the same suit David E. Kelly used in the Wonder Woman TV reboot pilot that never saw the light of day.
“I will say this: There’s a whole difference to being ready to wear Underoos and being ready to wear a pair of pants that are slim-fitting,” she replies with a laugh. “I am grateful that I am wearing the pants. And I like the new costume,” she told TVLine.
In a perfect world, Lois Lane’s alter-ago would be Wonder Woman. And that’s why Erica Durance is the perfect actress play a woman whose alter-ago is Wonder Woman. In Smallville, Erica got a few episodes where she got to kick ass (Stiletto) and she perfected them!
To say that I know nothing about Harry’s Law would be the understatement of the century. So how they’re going to tackle Erica’s character is very vague to me at the moment, but what I do know is that she’s going to kill it as fake Wonder Woman because she brought a kind of humor to Lois Lane on Smallville that no actress has brought before to this legendary character. So I’m very intrigued to see how she’s going to tackle the character of Annie Billson. I’m definitely going to watch her episode on January 11th.
Earlier this year, Erica Durance guest-starred on the now-canceled Charlie’s Angels as Samantha Masters. The Canadian channel CTV has also green-lit a new medical drama, Saving Hope, starring her which will hopefully air soon.
Will you guys watch her episode on Harry’s Law?
