The first promotional trailer for CTV’s upcoming medical drama Saving Hope has finally debuted, and it is EPIC – to say the least. I may or may not have watched about 30 times in the last couple of days, and I may or may not have squealed every single time. The cast is awesome. The storyline is awesome. I can’t wait till summer’s here so I can finally watch it!
The upcoming Canadian drama stars Stargate SG-1 veteran Michael Shanks (who also guest-starred on Smallville as Hawkman), Smallville’s Erica Durance, AND The Vampire Diaries’ Daniel Gillies. It’s casting heaven. Every time I think about those three together, I almost lose my breath. LOIS! ELIJAH! HAWKMAN!! It’s just too good to be true.
Even though it’s a medical drama, sci-fi fans shouldn’t worry. There’s gonna be a lot of
supernatural on this show! According to the official synopsis of the series on IMDb, the story revolves around Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks), a chief of surgery who ends up in a coma after a car accident leaving his fiancee (Erica Durance), a surgeon as well, searching for hope. A new surgeon (who, looking by the trailer has a history with Durance’s character) played by the always incredible Daniel Gillies (ELIJAH!) tries to save Charlie’s life but it only leaves him roaming around the hospital, wait for it, as a GHOST. (Or is it his imagination?)
Side Note: Let the shipping wars begin.
The show seems incredibly soapy but simply outstanding. The trailer was released by One Entertainment, the producing company that also produces The Firm for NBC, without announcing a specific airing date for the show.
TVLine reported last week that NBC is in talks to acquire the show for the summer so it can air in the US as well. (HELL YEAH!!)
Take a look at the trailer below and tell us what you think! Will you be watching this show?
