RAHUL_108812 M1BMM: Kind of speaking of passions and things you like, what are some shows you’re currently watching? Some that you just can’t get enough of?

RK: Game of Thrones. I’m waiting for season 5. I love Game of Thrones. I am currently, actually watching Parks and Recreation. I do enjoy The Walking Dead. My problem with TV is I tend to re-watch a lot. I’m already feeling like I want to watch Deadwood again. The Wire is coming out in HD so I want to do that again and Battlestar Galactica. I kind of live in the past.

MM: No, I think that’s fun to do sometimes though. To kind of revisit things you once loved and watched all the time. So now, how do you think you’d react if you were turned into the undead?

RK: I’m not the biggest food person but I think I would — I don’t love food. I know that’s one of the things that both Liv and Blaine (David Anders), both our zombies have a complication about because of the food that they miss. I think I’d cope okay with the dietary. How to access the brains would be an issue and I don’t think I’m as noble as Liv. The original character grave digs, from the comic books. She’s a grave digger whereas our character works for the morgue. I’d probably be closer to the comic book and probably have to grave dig. I wouldn’t be happy about it but I wouldn’t hit the streets and hunt people down.

MM: I saw an interesting tweet of yours recently. When is this iZombie/The 100 football match I keep hearing about? I definitely think it should be televised.

RK: During season one, we spent a lot of time with The 100. We always bumped into each other when we were out. I’m very close with a couple of the actors. Ricky Whittle is a fellow Brit. I don’t know how it spun out of control but the zombie crew were kind of like hold on, they’re this young, athletic, survival of the fittest show, running around the forest all the time. We’re a bunch of slackers. We sit in the morgue. We’re going to get obliterated. It was organized but the weather got really bad in Vancouver at some point and it got postponed. I know they’ll be out there for season three. If we get picked up for season two, I think we’ll be making that happen this summer.

MM: I definitely think that you guys need to get picked up for another season, just obviously for a great show and also —

RK: Just for the football match! I’ll pitch that to CW and see if that will work.

MM: That’s a foolproof situation right there. Now, name three things you can’t leave home without.

RK: I don’t want to say my phone but it is my phone. Yeah, my phone. I’m going to take that — we’re business people. We’re self employed so we need our phones right? I just bought these Darth Vader Vans and I’m wearing them everywhere. I’m kind of overkilling it a bit. But they’re awesome. They’ve just got Vaders face on them. So that and — I’m going to cheat a little here because I take these with me whenever I go to a hotel or a different location. Tea bags.

MM: What kind?

RK: PG Tips. It’s what we have back in London. I get devastated if I don’t have my PG Tips. I love my tea. It’s a huge stereotype but I love tea. We all do in London and England. My mum she ships out a thousand tea bags to me. That’s my thing.

MM: Tea is pretty important. Now, what can you tease about the series premiere next week? Why should we tune in?

RK: I think you should tune in because — and this sounds like a short answer and I don’t mean it to be: It’s fun. It’s just really fun and from the preview I’ve seen and from what’s out there right now, I don’t know any other show that’s like this. Like I said, there have been comparisons from other journalists who have seen our show and we’ve seen it too, with Buffy [The Vampire Slayer]. I feel like there hasn’t been a show since that which has a great, strong, female lead, a really colorful, vibrant supporting cast, a really entertaining show and at the same time as well — is this a spoiler? I don’t know how much we’ve been teasing it. Our intro to the show, it’s so awesome. I feel like TV, there’s been the death of the TV intro. We have really cool music, really cool intro graphics. You get hyped for a show. I remember Buffy’s intro. There hasn’t been — that kind of is dying a little bit. iZombie brings that back. I’m in love with our intro. I won’t spoil what happens with it but it’s a great intro to a show.

MM: Well I can’t wait for it. Buffy is a classic. I personally love it so I think bringing anything similar to Buffy back is okay in my opinion. And those are all the questions I have for you and I just want to thank you again for joining me today.

RK: Thank you very much. I appreciate it. It was good to talk to you.
