MM: You’re obviously on the receiving hand of some “crazy” fans. What has been the most outrageous thing a fan has said or done to you, whether it has been on social media or in real life?

CR: Well, there was one… I can’t say exactly what it was. (laughs) But someone tweeted me, and I’ve never blocked any fans or anyone ever, but I actually blocked this person. I can’t say what they said, but it was multiple tweets that were very inappropriate, very sexual, and very public, too! I couldn’t figure out who it was, if it was some alias account of some random person, or whatever. (laughs) That was the craziest thing that I’ve seen.

MM: It’s so odd to see people do that. They really have no filter, or no concept, that there is another person on the other end reading those tweets, and it’s not normal to say these vulgar things or send death threats and things like that!

CR: Yeah, and there’s just some crazy stuff… Someone once said “how tall is he?” and I guess it’s a… I didn’t know at first, I guess there’s a thing about when you post a picture with your fist in front of your face closing your eyes, that’s like, aw he’s tall. I didn’t know if it was a good thing or a bad thing or whatever, at first. Then, they would post that picture. And I was like, I think I’m too tall, and they’re thinking, man I wish he was shorter, but I guess it was a good thing. And then someone said “How tall is he?”, and someone else said, “Yeah I know him, he’s almost 6’.” And I’m 6’ 2”, so it’s like (laughs) I don’t… how do you know who I am? You don’t know how tall I am! (laughs)

MM: And that has to be kind of crazy. Obviously, you have a private life. Do you ever feel, I don’t want to use the word ‘violated’ but I guess, violated if people are prying into your personal life or stalking your instagram trying to get information and all that? How has that affected you?

CR: Yeah, I mean I don’t feel violated. I don’t even want to say intrusive. There are sometimes I see pictures that I didn’t even know were on the internet, and I don’t know how people got them. I thought someone, one time, was like going through a personal scrapbook that I had and I was like “I don’t know how they got those pictures.” No, I mean, sometimes I don’t think they know that they’re being offensive. Someone said something about my girlfriend, like she’s ugly or… and I’ll go like the tweet or favorite the tweet. I’ve had them apologize immediately like, “Oh, sorry, I didn’t know you were here.” Like, maybe they just realized someone can actually see that.

MM: That doesn’t seem fun. Does your girlfriend feel the brunt of it. Do people attack her online? I know the fans can be passionate sometimes.

CR: I’ve just seen comments like that. After the MTV Movie Awards some people were like, “I love her dress”, or someone else would say “Those shoes are ugly” or something like that. She just reads them and it doesn’t really bother her. It’s not a big deal. She never lets it get to her. She reads them and laughs sometimes. It’s pretty much harmless, unless it’s like specific…

MM: Then it’s too far.

CR: Yeah. It hasn’t gotten violent yet, so…

MM: Well, that’s good! Hopefully it never gets to that point. That’s your personal life and people should be respectful, in general. So now, if you could be any Disney character, what would you be and why?

CR: Oh I saw this on twitter! Oh man. Probably (laughs) the kid in The Incredibles– the son. Dash. I was younger when I saw the movie, but I just thought his powers were really cool. He has this suit that doesn’t have friction or something and he’s super fast. He like runs on water (laughs) and it’s cool.

MM: That’s awesome. If you were a drink, alcoholic or non, what would you be?

CR: If I was a drink… probably, like an arnold palmer? (laughs)

MM: Good choice. So obviously, you’re filming, you’re doing other things… what do you like to do when you have some down time?

CR: I watch a lot of TV, actually. Just TV shows, movies, etc. Even like those TV shows that don’t have any benefit (laughs). I also play a lot of basketball. That’s my favorite sport, and I have a lot of friends who like to play, so that’s one of things we get together and do when I’m in L.A. I like being outdoors, so even when we’re here in Atlanta, some of the cast will go out to one of the parks and just run around and play football or something. We like being outdoors.

MM: That’s awesome. Now, a fan wants to know why you hate pickles. And is this true? Because I don’t know if we can be friends if you don’t like pickles. (laughs)

CR: I don’t like pickles at all. My whole life, it’s been one of those things. And I eat a lot of stuff. I’ll always try new things; If I’ve never had it, I’ll try it. Which is also, a fear that I have- I don’t have any food allergies, I’m not allergic- but I’m afraid that one day I’m going to eat something new and find out that I have a food allergy. (laughs) But I’ve never liked pickles. I’ve literally tried every pickle I can think of, and I don’t like them. I don’t like them on burgers or by themselves, I’ve always hated them and I’ve tried to like them and I just don’t. But I’m not like… If there’s a pickle on my burger, I’m not going to send it back, I’m just going to pick them off.

MM: Well that’s good. Everyone is entitled to their likes and dislikes, for sure. So now, growing up, what was your favorite TV show?

CR: Growing up? When I was little, I wore a Power Ranger costume around for about a year… when I was like five. (laughs) My mom would take it off me.

MM: Which color?

CR: The red one. Had to be red. She even bought like a lifesize Power Ranger, almost like a mannequin. And she bought one to replace the suit. She would like cut holes in the bottom of it so it would still fit me, and then she’d take it off of me while I was asleep, and then wash it and put it back on me.

MM: (laughs) That is amazing. Dedicated mom right there! So let’s see… what’s the most common question you get asked on Twitter?

CR: Other than “how tall are you?” (laughs)

MM: Do you get a lot of, “Will you marry me?” or “Be my boyfriend!”

CR: Yeah. That’s pretty frequent. I mean, there are a lot of questions about the show like, “Will Crash be on next season?” or “Is Crash coming back?” But yes, be my boyfriend or marry me are probably the top two. (laughs)

MM: Basically teenage girls just going crazy. So lastly, why do you think people should watch Finding Carter?

CR: Because it’s… especially for young people, I think it’s relevant. Yeah, especially in the high school community. I know there are some really crazy things that go on, as far as last season when Max got shot, and Lori kidnapping Carter in the first place, and re-kidnapping her at the end, those are exaggerated situations, I guess. But a lot of the relationships inside it, I know people or knew people in high school that would come to school like, “Ugh. I spent all night with my boyfriend last night, because someone called the cops on him,” and that’s a real thing. I mean, that wasn’t my experience, but I think that stuff gets to people. The characters are really relatable whether the story lines are or not. The characters reflect real people and we do our best to make them representations of real people.

MM: I could not agree more, and we have our fingers crossed for many more seasons!

Finding Carter airs Tuesdays at 10 on MTV
